During the second week of term, Year 6 took part in their Bikeability Level 2 lessons. Mrs Turner was so impressed by the enthusiasm and effort displayed by the children. They learnt about how to stay safe on their bikes whilst on the nearby roads, as well as how to check their bikes were fully and safely operational.

“I liked how the instructors taught us to go around corners and all of the things we learned on the road!” Oliver

“I liked how the instructors made things easy for us to learn so we were able to do them really quickly.” Noah

The children learned to check their bikes for the following things before riding:

A – Air (Check the tyres feel like an apple)

B – Brakes (While holding the brakes you shouldn’t be able to push or pull the bike)

C – Chain (Does the chain catch?)
