Year 6 have been looking at trade and economics in their geography lessons this half term. We began by discussing how trade has changed over time, comparing trade in the stone age to trade in the current day. We leant that trade has shifted from a local scale, to a national scale, to a global scale.

“In our geography lesson this week we looked at where our different food is imported from.” – Ambla

“We had to look in the atlases for the countries where the different food came from and mind them on our maps.” – Tristan

“We found the countries by looking in the back of the atlas at the index. The countries were listed alphabetically with their page number and grid reference next to them.” – Oliver

I enjoyed learning about where different foods were from that we eat every day and that we got to see how the food is traded between countries.” – Emily
