This half term we have been learning all about World War II. We started by creating a timeline of events.

Through storytelling, we then imagined the life of a fictional boy growing up in London during the Blitz. Listening to sounds from the war, we discussed how it must have felt to have to use Anderson Shelters for safety. Mrs Turner was amazed by the maturity shown by the children as they handled and learned from primary sources and artefacts.

Jason: “We have learnt about how jews and refugees were treated during the war. I think they were treated very badly.”

Tobe: “I have enjoyed learning our History homework – especially making my spitfire plane with my Dad and Mum.”

Cathy: “I like seeing what happened in the past and knowing that we can learn from it. I think it was a shocking thing to happen.”
