Salvete!

In Latin this half term, Year 5 have been learning how to play traditional Roman games. We have been introduced to one called ‘Rota’. In this simple but strategic game, children have to use counters to create a ‘3 in a row’ pattern along a straight line.

As you can imagine, it didn’t take long for the children’s competitive side to come out!

Miss Williams took on many of the children in ‘battle’ and is sad to say that she did not come out victorious! Have a go at setting your own one up at home; maybe you will be more successful.

Keep a look out for our next blog post on making Roman catapults.
