In their Science lessons this half term, Oak class have been learning about Electricity. We have practised remembering some of the key circuit symbols for different components of a circuit. We then explored how changing different parts of a circuit affected the individual components. For example: we explored how adding more lightbulbs to a circuit affected their brightness. The majority of us fund out that the more components (that are not cells or batteries) a circuit had, the less effective each component would be.

You can see we really enjoyed learning through our experimentation today!

Noah: “It was really fun experimenting with different things. When we tried with all of the parts, the buzzer would consume all of the electricity so the other parts didn’t work as well.”

Alex: “We were able to figure out on our own how to make the circuits rather than being told. This was more fun to explore.”

Cathy: “It was fun to explore. When we put a motor into our circuit with a buzzer, only the buzzer worked.”
