In Year 3, we have been completing our sentence stacking lessons based on the book, ‘Earth Shattering Events’ by Robin Jacobs. This is a book all about different types of natural disasters! We have learnt lots of interesting facts about the structure of the Earth and about the role of tectonic plates in causing some of these disasters.

For our final write, we have researched facts about volcanoes! We have presented our information as a non-chronological report using headings, subheadings, pictures and bullet points. Some of us have also challenged ourselves to include imaginative similes to describe how a volcano erupts! We were also responsible for editing our work for missing punctuation and capital letters – this is a target for lots of us in Poplar Class at the moment to prepare us for Year 4!

Take a look at some examples of our interesting reports!
