The Cedar’s pupils have been studying Hinduism this half term and were lucky to be able to discuss their work when they had a visit from Miss Khosla. The children learnt about the four main beliefs; Reincarnation, Moksha, Dharma and that Truth is eternal. They also learnt about the Hindi Creation Story and compared it to other religious beliefs. The children discovered that Hinduism had three main Festivals: Holi, Navaratri and Diwali. They chose one of the festivals, used the internet to research important facts about their festival and then designed an informative poster about it. Hindus believe there is one God, Brahman who has different representations. The children enjoyed learning about the different Gods and Goddesses. To link in with RE and Science, the children created some shadow puppets and recreated the story of Rama and Sita.
