Acorn children have been learning to make bridges using construction. They thought carefully about the structure and how secure it would be once they put an animal or dinosaur on top of it. They wanted to make sure it was strong and sturdy and would not collapse. Goshik and Efehan made a beam bridge by using piers to support it, they soon realised the further apart the pier the weaker the bridge was, so they placed the piers close together and placed the bricks along the top.

Some bridges were long and some were tall but all of them were strong enough to hold a dinosaur toy. Well done Acorn children you have worked very hard.

How else could we make a bridge?

Could you have a go at home? Build a bridge with blocks and cardboard, what happens when you add more weight on top?
