In Year 3, we have been developing our poetry skills! We read ‘The Sound Collector’ by Roger McGough and loved how different sounds were described. We decided to take inspiration from this poem and write our own, but about colours!

We started off by looking at colour thesauruses to brainstorm ideas. We thought of loads of different things we could relate to the colours before then exploring the rhymes we could make. We all agree that our world would be a lot less exciting without all of the amazing colours around us! Miss Rowlands thinks that these poems are amazing! She is really proud of lots of us for following the ABCB rhyming pattern correctly. Well done, Poplar!
